新冠肺炎疫情自109年初蔓延以來，已造成全球經濟大幅衰退，國內情況也不例外，大多數產業都受到相當程度的影響，尤其服務業，歇業或倒閉者時有所聞，休無薪假人數及失業率也不斷攀升，災情至為慘重，影響許多業者生存及民眾生計。

台塑企業秉持「取之於社會，用之於社會」之一貫精神，並基於「人飢己飢、人溺己溺」的人道關懷，捐贈新台幣10億元紓困金，提供行政院專款專用，協助受疫情嚴重影響的產業及民眾，共同渡過疫情難關。

The global economy is confronted with recession owing to the outbreak and spread of COVID-19 pandemic since early 2020. Taiwan, as a matter of course, cannot stand aloof from the crisis. COVID-19 pandemic has had a dramatic effect on all of the businesses, especially on the service industry. Cases of shut down happen from time to time. Some employees were even forced to take unpaid leaves and the unemployment rate peaked. The situation has been a huge threat to people’s living.

The Group believes in the spirits of “what is taken from the society is used interests of the society” and “treat and love others as ourselves”; therefore, we would like to make contributions to the society at the difficult times. The Board of Directors has approved to donate NTD 1 billion to Executive Yuan for the use of bailouts. This aims to assist industries and citizens who are severely influenced by the pandemic and to help them manage through the crisis.
